UK competition body calls on public views on Microsoft Activision deal

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is asking the public to share their thoughts on Microsoft's proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

In a post on its website, as part of the second stage of the investigation into the deal members of the public can share their views on the union.

The CMA is focusing its attention on a few key areas; the first is the impact of this deal on other platform holders, such as PlayStation and Nintendo. The organisation is also assessing what this acquisition could mean for subscription services, i.e. those that are in competition with Xbox Game Pass, as well as cloud gaming platforms.

"The CMA will investigate whether the merger could significantly lessen competition in the supply of any products and services in the UK, and as a result lead to higher prices, less choice or worse quality for those products or services," the organisation wrote.

This news comes a week after the CMA laid out its concerns about Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard.
