UK virtual reality specialist NDreams has increased the pay of all of its staff by £1,000 per year.
The firm says that this is to support staff during the ongoing cost of living crisis in the country, with households having to pay out huge amounts of money for energy this winter. This is a permanent pay increase rather than a simple one-off benefit for NDreams' 180 full-time employees.
“As a company, we’ve always focused heavily on initiatives to support our team members’ mental health,” NDream's chief people officer Tamsin O’Luanaigh said.
“The significance of financial wellbeing as a key part of this conversation is something we have never shied away from, and so ensuring that our team members are well-compensated and protected against the rising costs of energy has been a priority for us.
“After careful calculations, we are happy that our approach is the right one to ease the concerns of our team members and to make up for the limitations of the government’s support package.”
Earlier this month, Chucklefish also increased pay to help staff through the cost of living crisis.
