Games platform Roblox is once again in the news for less than stellar reasons.

As reported by Polygon, the service appeared in an episode of the reality show The Kardashians, in which Kim Kardashian was made aware of an ad in Roblox for a game claiming to feature footage of her 2007 sex tape. This was discovered by her six-year-old son, Saint, and the developer claiming that this video was on the service has been kicked.

In a statement, Roblox claims that the video was never actually on its platform and that there was only a "text reference" to it.

"The referenced video was never available on our platform—we have strict moderation and policies to protect our community, including zero tolerance for sexual content of any kind which violates our Community Rules," a Roblox spokesperson said.

"The text reference to the tape that got around our filters was quickly taken down and fortunately visible only to an extremely small number of people on the platform. We also swiftly took down the associated experience and banned the community developer involved with the incident."

Roblox has been under fire in recent years for a variety of reasons, not least for failing to safeguard children on its platform.
