Strategy titles behind 20% of PC Game Pass engagement

Strategy titles behind 20% of PC Game Pass engagement

Strategy titles are a key part of Game Pass' success on PC.

That's according to Microsoft's GM for portfolio planning and analysis Matt Percy, who told PCGamesN that titles in this genre are generally one of the top ten most-played releases in a given month. Furthermore, strategy games are behind around 20 per cent of engagement with Game Pass.

“Strategy games have become some of the most popular titles in our portfolio,” Percy said.

“They’re consistently in the top ten games every month and they drive as much as 20% of our monthly engagement on PC.

“Our goal for Game Pass has always been to offer gamers more choice. And give creators more choice as well. We think we’re having a really positive effect on the [strategy] genre on PC, because you’re making it more accessible to people.”

Percy also says that Game Pass subscribers play 20 per cent more games that aren't part of the service and try 30 per cent more genres.

Microsoft recently rebranded Xbox Game Pass PC to, you guessed it, PC Game Pass.
