Australia rates unannounced Id Software game

An unannounced game from Id Software has been rated in Australia.

As spotted by VGC, the country's classification body has given this project – dubbed Project 2021B – as Mature, given that it features "moderate impact" violence, as well as "mild impact" themes and language.

There's no indication what this game is on the Australian Classification site. All we know is that it is coming to numerous platforms, features some kind of online mode and is violent. Oh, and it's an Id Software game.

There has been speculation that a new Quake game is on the horizon, however. XboxEra's Nick Baker recently posted a video to YouTube claiming that a new entry in the franchise was in the works, with Id Software working with fellow Bethesda studio MachineGames on a Quake game that boasted both single-player and multiplayer content.

There's no indication that this is happening yet, but given that this is the 25th anniversary of the shooter franchise, it's not exactly outside the realm of possibility.

Bethesda was recently acquired by Microsoft in a deal worth $7.5 billion.
