Fortnite's competitive team has revealed what issues it is looking to fix in 2020.
As announced in a blog update, the team will monitor competitive matches across all regions. Players found to be cheating or breaking any rules will be punished.
Teaming continues to be an issue in the battle royale, players thought to be working together in a match while on opposing teams could face punishment. Competitors that use planned movement - two opponents who agree to land at the same location in a premeditated plan - could also have action taken against them.
Players should also avoid communication of all kinds with the opposition, also, dropping items intentionally for the opposing team is against the rules.
In-game communication that will be punished can include pick-axe swinging, emoting, toy tossing and jumping.
"Any cases of signalling like those listed above will now result in a teaming/collusion penalty," said the update.
"We want to be explicitly clear that pacifism-style gameplay is still allowed, but if signalling is involved, we will review and take appropriate action for the teaming/collusion penalty. Repeat offenders may be subject to increased penalties."
Fortnite's competitive team encourages those who experience an integrity issue to report it, the player support team will ensure the complaints go to the right people.
"You can also report players in-game for cheating, exploitation, harassment, and more. Your reports are instrumental in helping us identify potential bad folks quickly - we appreciate you taking the time to submit those reports," reads the update.
