Wipe those tears: Devil May Cry slashes the top spot in this week’s Steam charts

Capcom continues its killer start to the year with Devil May Cry 5’s all-consuming Steam Chart performance.

While the Steam Weekly Top Ten feed isn’t quite built to handle multiple editions breaching the list, we can still definitely say that the base game, deluxe edition and deluxe edition upgrade pack have taken the list by storm at No.1, No.2 and No.4.

With the strong launch of Resident Evil 2 earlier this year, and the ongoing success of Monster Hunter World, Capcom is proving itself a powerful player in the PC space.

Dawn of Man clings on at No.3, weathering Capcom’s devilish storm as it slips from top placement last week.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 4 Pass returns to the top ten at No.8, a little ahead of another civilization-builder. The Gathering Storm expansion for Civ VI has continued to wrack the weekly charts but has calmed down from No.3 to No.9 in the last week.

The week closed out with pre-orders for From Software and Activision's new IP, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which might make some key departures from the studio’s past titles, but the excitement has still pushed pre-orders to No.10 in this week’s chart.

Below is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending March 9th.

  1. Devil May Cry 5, Capcom
  2. Devil May Cry 5, Capcom
  3. Dawn of Man, Madruga Works
  4. Devil May Cry 5, Capcom

  8. Rainbow Six Siege - Year 4 Pass, Ubisoft
