Scalpers are selling copies of the pen-and-paper Cyberpunk RPG for hundreds of dollars

Copies of late-80s tabletop RPG Cyberpunk 2020 are going for upwards of $400 on Amazon.

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 was shown off to the world at E3 this month, after five years of silence. The reveal has seen popularity for the original Cyberpunk 2020 pen-and-paper game surge.

Used copies of the 30 year old Cyberpunk 2020 are going for over $200, with new copies going for up to triple that figure.

Sellers are banking on the decades-old game being long out of print, charging wild amounts of money for a forgotten game, right? Thing is, Cyberpunk 2020 is still in print thanks to publisher R. Talsorian Games. It’s site is selling brand new copies for a measly $30.

“Word has reached us that people are selling Cyberpunk 2020 on Amazon for $300,” said the publisher in a statement. “This is ridiculous. It is still in print and on the company website for $30.00. Please feel free to buy our books anywhere you like, but please don’t you or your friends get ripped off. Spread the word.”

A new edition of 2020 is set to release by the end of this year, while a tabletop interpretation of 2077’s setting has no announced release date.
