Games London secures $1.7m from Mayor of London to run LGF until 2021

The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has pledged a further £1.2 million ($1.7m) in investment for Games London to help it grow the local industry.

The funding from the Great London Authority ensures Games London can run a three-year programme of events and activities, which includes the London Games Festival, from 2019 to 2021.

These events are designed to help generate revenue, support businesses and create jobs.

This year’s London Games Festival will take place from April 5th to April 15th.

Thanks to the additional funding Games London aims to facilitate a further £35 million-plus ($50m-plus) worth of investment in the sector, which it claims will create 270 jobs.
