There's a Minecraft-esque spin off for Ark: Survival Evolved on the way

The PixArk voxel-art spin-off of Ark: Survival Evolved is heading to Early Access in March.

Developed by Snail Games, the project is more or less Ark but with a Minecraft-esque voxel art style. Gamers find themselves waking up on a mysterious island and must hunt, craft and build to survive.

As well as PC, the title is set for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

You might be forgiven for assuming that Snail Games is just someone that Ark developers Studio Wildcard have just passed this spin-off on to - in fact Snail Games owns Studio Wildcard having bought them in January 2017.

“With PixArk, we’ve taken the action and excitement that older players know and love in ARK to a new direction in order to introduce that world to an entirely different audience,” Snail Games' director of live operations and business development Peter Kang.

“PixArk is a fun, colourful game that introduces players of all ages to ARK while adding creative building modes and a clever pick-up-and-play experience.”

One small thing - shouldn't it be VoxArk, not PixArk?
