Activision Blizzard set to fire CFO

Activision Blizzard is set to fire its chief financial officer Spencer Neumann amidst a report he's set to join streaming giant Netflix.

A regulatory filing from the Call of Duty publisher stated it intends to terminate Neumann’s employment with the firm for “cause unrelated to the company’s financial reporting or disclosure controls and procedures”.

Off to Netflix?

Neumann has been placed on a paid leave of absence from the firm. During this time the exec will be given the opportunity to “demonstrate why cause does not exist to terminate his employment” or why such termination is “not otherwise justified”.

It did not cite a specific reason for such a move. Reuters reports however that Netflix is set to announce it has appointed Neumann as its own CFO.

Following Activision’s regulatory filing, chief corporate officer Dennis Durkin has temporarily assumed CFO duties. Should Neumann leave, Durkin will officially take over the position.
