Swedish VC firm Behold Ventures has raised SEK 550 million ($59.2 million).
GamesBeat reports that the outfit has brought in this cash to invest into European games firms. So far, Behold Ventures has invested $21 million into 18 companies since it was founded back in 2021.
Managing partner and founder Karl Magnus Troedsson says that 54 per cent of $59.2 million that it has raised came from Europe, while another 44 per cent came from Asia. The remaining two per cent came from North America.
Troedsson says that Behold Ventures is interested in investing not only in games studios, but also tech, tools and infrastructure. Furthermore, the managing partner says that the VC is eying up companies that target a younger audience.
“Overall budgets are very much under pressure in our industry right now," Troedsson says.
"People are questioning the smartness on the risk balancing of investing very high budgets against single content development studios, even if the founders are super experienced. But the young developers, they don’t need as much money to do a lot more. I would say many of them are very frugal with money.”
