Warner Bros reports 48% dip in games revenue for Q1

Entertainment giant Warner Bros has reported a 48 per cent dip in revenue for its games division.

The company's report for the three months ending March 31st says that income for this division almost halved year-on-year. Warner Bros blames this on the launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League in Q1 2024, while no new games launched in Q1 2025. Given how poorly Rocksteady's supervillain title performed, it's likely that Warner Bros' games arm did pretty poorly this year.

The company also says that there was still cash coming in from Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1 in Q1 2024, which contributed to it being a stronger quarter.

Meanwhile, overheads for Warner Bros' games business decreased by 66 per cent year-on-year due to Suicide Squad in Q1 2024.

For 2024 as a whole, Warner Bros' games arm saw a 53 per cent dip in revenue year-on-year. The company recently closed three studios, including Monolith. Interactive entertainment boss David Haddad also departed the firm in early 2025.
