The Quiet Things secures the Very Big Indie Pitch London win for Silver Script Games

With a track room devoted to PC and console content, the Big Screen Gaming Summit, PG Connects returned to London for its first event of 2025. The conference provided its traditional networking opportunities, many fantastic talks, panels, and active fringe events, including Investor Connector, Publisher SpeedMatch and, of course, the Very Big Indie Pitch.

The conference welcomed over 2,600 registrations from 66 countries across six continents, making this year's event even bigger than before. PG Connects London was full of excitement and vibrance, especially when it came to this year's pitch.

The Very Big Indie Pitch, the popular game pitching competition, was this time divided into two days, one for PC and one for mobile. Developers battled it out to see which games caught the eyes of our panel of experts. The pitchers had only five minutes to impress each judge before moving on to the next table. It's like indie game speed dating, rapidly switching from judge to judge. With a wide variety of games and genres, along with business models, there was a lot for judges to take into consideration.

After the pitch, our judges got together to deliberate, providing tons of valuable feedback on the games and pitch style. Each developer received feedback, but only three games made it to the top - and of those, only one game swiped the legendary Golden Baseball Bat.

For this specific Very Big Indie Pitch, we saw 17 indie developers pitch to our judges. There was a massive variety, from story-driven games through puzzles to retro titles.

First Place - The Quiet Things by Silver Script Games (Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC)

The Quiet Things is an emotional, story-driven game based on the diary entries of a real person. In it, you visit some not-so-great environments and work through their retelling of trauma. It bravely explores mental health issues, childhood abuse, and the distress that can come from that.

Through beautiful voice action, you hear Alice's story and connect with her journey. Critically, though, the developers came prepared with a fantastic pitch that made sense for this type of game. We're planning on keeping an eye out for their 2025 release.

Second Place - 1001 Nights by Ada Eden (PC)

1001 Nights is another narrative-driven game, but this one uses a language model to enable players to generate cards based on words. Though our judges felt they might have some issues publishing in countries that have AI-based laws, the game itself sounded unique and captivating.

You play as Shahrazad, who is able to turn stories into reality. The aim is to tell stories to the Evil King, who might then use words that you can turn back against him as weapons. 1001 Nights is intended for launch in October of 2025.

Third Place - Nanuka: Secret of the Shattering Moon by OutOfTheBit Ltd (PC)

Nanuka: Secrets of the Shattering Moon is a colourful, joyful, 2D action-platformer with many stunning, hand-animated moments. You play as Nanuka, a clumsy heroine equipped with karate skills for fighting off foes. You can recruit allies who have their own skills and abilities, helping you solve puzzles and take on tougher enemies.

Simply looking at the game, it's easy to see how our judges were captivated by Nanuka: Secret of the Shattering Moon. The presentation was also well delivered, with this team showing a lot of confidence and experience. As with the second-place game above, Nanuka will be released in October 2025.
