From Software owner Kadokawa acknowledges Sony acquisition offer

FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa has confirmed that Sony is looking to acquire it.

In a post to investors, the company said that the PlayStation giant had submitted a letter of intent to buy its shares. This follows reporting from Reuters that Sony was in talks to acquire Kadokawa

"There are some articles on the acquisition of Kadokawa Corporation by Sony Group Inc," the company wrote.

"However, this information is not announced by the Company. The Company has received an initial letter of intent to acquire the Company's shares, but no decision has been made at this time. If there are any facts that should be announced in the future, we will make an announcement in a timely and appropriate manner."

Sony already owns 14 per cent of From Software and two per cent of Kadokawa.
