CD Projekt vet Tomaszkiewicz opens new studio called Rebel Wolves

CD Projekt vet Konrad Tomaszkiewicz is opening a new game developer called Rebel Wolves.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, this new venture is being staffed ex CD Projekt employees, as well as Flying Wild Hog of Shadow Warrior fame. Tomaszkiewicz spent over 17 years at CD Projekt and has worked on every entry in The Witcher franchise, starting in testing and designer roles, before being promoted to game director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as well as 2020's Cyberpunk 2077.

"We're proud of our past achievements, but we're hungry for more," Tomaszkiewicz said. "We want to experiment, push the envelope, discover new ways for telling stories in the video game medium. We felt that starting a new company, where we call all the shots, will give us the freedom to take the necessary risks to fulfil these ambitions."

Tomaszkiewicz left CD Project in May 2021 after reports of an investigation into office bullying. The company found him not guilty, but he left, apologising for causing people "feeling fear, stress or discomfort."

“I am going to continue working on myself,” he said at the time.

“Changing behavior is a long and arduous process, but I’m not giving up, and I hope to change.”
