Report: Streamer Dr Disrespect is suing Twitch over ban

Popular streamer Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm IV has said that he is suing Amazon's Twitch brand over his ban in 2020.

As reported by Dot Esports, the personality recently said in a video on his new home on YouTube that he not only knew why the streaming platform had booted him back in June 2020, but also that he was taking them to court for damages.

“I can’t talk about it, but a lot of people ask me: ‘Do you know the reason?’," Beahm said.

"Yeah, I do know the reason why now. I’ve known for months now—the reason why. And I’ll just say this right now, champs: there’s a reason why we’re suing the fuck out of them. I don’t know how else to put it.”

In spite of his popularity, Beahm was something of a controversial figure in the streaming community. In June 2019, he received his first ban for livestreaming from a bathroom at E3, for some reason, before he was permanently banned from the platform 12 months later for a currently unknown reason.

In August 2020, he started streaming on Google's YouTube service. At the time, he said he had "no idea" why he had been banned from Twitch.
