Kojima Productions looking into cloud games development and film production

Japanese development icon Hideo Kojima has said that he wants his next game to be even more experimental and might even try his hand at making films.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat (below), the Metal Gear creator said he is interested in the new types of experiences that will be made as a result of video games streaming, both as a result of the tech side of things but also the increase in people who can play them. This is an emerging sector that he would "want to take on."

“I think within the next few years, gaming will move on to streaming,” he said. “Movies, dramas, and games will all be streamed, and you’ll enjoy them on your iPad or iPhone or a TV anytime, anywhere. When that happens, games, films, and dramas will have to compete in the same space.”

He continued: “I’m very interested in the new format of game that will appear on [streaming]. And that’s what I want to take on.”

This isn't the first time that the Death Stranding creator has expressed interest in cloud games

Kojima also said that his studio wants to start making films, too, which will come as no surprise to anyone who has played his games, full that they are with long cutscenes and references to the world of cinema.
