There's a TV show on the way about the creation of Id Software and Doom

American TV channel USA Network is funding a pilot of David Kushner's 2003 book Masters of Doom.

Media outlet Deadline reports that the nonfiction publication, which documents the creation of both Id Software and ultimately Doom, is being made into a TV show by James and Dave Franco's Ramona Films, as well as The Gotham Group and UCP.

Gears of War, Battlefield and Uncharted writer Tom Bissell is on board to pen the show, as well as serving as an executive producer.

The Masters of Doom TV show is set to launch USA Network's 2019 pilots.

The book details how John Carmack (pictured above right) and John Romero (above far right) came together to form Id Software, running through the creation of Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and its sequel and Quake, before egos and differing priorities tore the development duo apart.
