Headset-maker HyperX has shipped over five million units

Gaming accessory manufacturer HyperX announced this week that it has shipped five million headsets.

As the gaming arm of Kingston Technology Company, HyperX has been developing and distributing accessories like memory, keyboards and mice for over a decade.

The company has been selling headsets for around four years and cites the exploding popularity of esports as a major driver for the audio accessories.

"With the explosive growth of Fortnite, NBA 2K and esports, HyperX is seeing an exciting expansion with our accessories revenues in EMEA increase by over 150 per cent in Q1 of this year compared to the same time last year" said HyperX EMEA business manager Julien Millet.

"HyperX has been supplying hardcore gamers with gaming gear for over 10 years. Shipping five million headsets is a major milestone considering we only entered the gaming headset market four years ago."

Headset sales have been amplified by partnerships across the world of basketball. HyperX supplies gaming headsets in partnership with NBA 2K esports teams.
