Activision Blizzard president and COO Alegre is stepping down

The president and COO of Activision Blizzard, Daniel Alegre, is leaving his position at the company.

The news was unveiled in a release to investors, in which the firm said that he had notified them if his departure on December 13th and that he would be leaving at the end of his contract on March 31st, 2023.

Alegre joined Activision Blizzard in March 2020. Before being hired by the Call of Duty firm, he had worked at Google for over 16 years, as well as spending almost six years at Bertlesmann and three years at BMG Music.

"Activision Blizzard just announced my decision to leave the company in my role as President and Chief Operating Officer at the end of Q1, 2023 to take on a new, external opportunity (details very soon!)," Alegre wrote on LinkedIn.

"I am very proud of the passion and commitment our teams at Activision, Blizzard and King have brought to our world's loyal players during my three years at the company and look forward to seeing continued innovation and excitement across our franchises."
