Multiplayer title Among Us boasted 1.5m simultaneous users over the weekend.
That's according to developer Innersloth, who revealed on Twitter (below) that the game hit this milestone – across all platforms – at around 4:38am BST on September 5th. Within the last 30 days, Among Us has been played by a record 180,400 concurrent users on Steam, according to Steam Charts.
Innersloth's multiplayer romp originally launched back in 2018 but has only recently become a smash hit. It's available across Steam, iOS and Android. It's unclear what has caused this sudden rush of popularity, but what is for sure is that the developers didn't expect it. On Twitter (below), the studio said that its servers were filling up and asked its fans to be patient as it figured out the best solution.
Among Us has appeared in the Steam Top Ten best-sellers list for the past month.
Among Us servers are filling up again! We're hitting 1.5 million players online at the same time! We're slowly getting the hang of things but please bear with us! We'll get through this.
