The Sims 4 community has kept the legacy of departed modder Scumbumbo alive

The Sims 4 modder Scumbumbo has passed away but members of the game's community have strived to keep his legacy alive.

As reported by Kotaku, Scumbumbo lost his life last year, however, his website is still running thanks to a group of modders teaming up to keep his mods up to date.

Sumbumbo's website now has an in memoriam section, various members of The Sims 4 community have left messages.

"Scumbumbo was a pillar of the modding in this community, he had a wicked sense of humour, and an enormous amount of patience and skill for walking people through the enormously complex," said Triplis.

The modder went on to describe him as "patient and ready to help those less knowledgeable, and with a sense of humour about it all mixed in. It's difficult to put into words the difference he made in this community and in my own life."

Another modder, Deaderpool, claimed "Scumbumbo was a huge contributor to Sims 4 development and was a mentor, of sorts, to me as well.

"He was a great teacher and had more patience than I could ever claim to have when dealing with people asking technical questions about modding.

"His tutorials and mods were a starting point for my learning how to do script modding for the Sims 4. MCCC would not be here without his guidance. I always respected him and appreciated everything he did. Rest in peace, Scumbumbo."

As of October 2019, The Sims franchise has generated more than $5 billion in lifetime revenue. By the end of December 2018, The Sims 4 had earned $1 billion.
