Activision nukes 27k accounts for cheating in COD

Publisher Activision has banned over 27,000 Call of Duty accounts for cheating over the most recent weekend.

That's according to the franchise's Ricochet anti-cheat team, which told CharlieIntel that this was due to recently upgraded hack detection. These bans were across both Modern Warfare 3 and the Warzone battle royale mode.

"#TeamRICOCHET identified and banned over 27,000 accounts over the weekend through a series of upgraded detection systems," the developers wrote.

"The team is progressing on a new set of security updates and anticipates more ban waves to come."

This comes alongside the launch of new content for Modern Warfare 3, as well as a free multiplayer trial.
