Valve is getting ready to unveil VR title Half-Life: Alyx

Valve is set to unveil its new flagship VR title Half-Life: Alyx

As revealed by the company - through its official Twitter page (below) - more details will be given on November 21st.

“We’re excited to unveil Half-Life: Alyx, our flagship VR game, this Thursday at 10am pacific time,” said Valve.

“Can’t wait to share it all with you.”

A leak was recently released, an interview between Geoff Keighley, Robin Walker and an unnamed person. The game seems to be set for a March 2020 release - it will also feature at The Game Awards..

"Half-Life: Alyx", (It will be at) The Game Awards, December 12th. We will have more to share with you on the game there so I hope you get to tune in. I'm excited to show more of it there,” said Keighley.

In 2017, Valve’s founder Gabe Newell told Eurogamer that the firm was working on three VR games.

"Right now we're building three VR games. When I say we're building three games, we're building three full games, not experiments," said Newell.

"One of the questions you might be asking is 'Why in the world would you be making hardware?'"
Newell continued: "What we can do now is we can be designing hardware at the same time that we're designing software.

"This is something that Miyamoto has always had. He's had the ability to think about what the input device is and design a system while he designs games.

“Our sense is that this will actually allow us to build much better entertainment experiences for people."

Valve launched the Vive VR platform back in 2016 in collaboration with hardware specialist HTC, with the Bellevue-based PC firm going on to release its own Index VR headset earlier this year.
