Ben Brinkman returns to 2K to head up 31st Union

2K Games has appointed Ben Brinkman as studio head of 31st Union.

Variety reports that company president David Ismailer emailed staff to let them know about Brinkman's new role. He has previously worked at the likes of EA, Activision and Respawn Entertainment. Between 2006 and 2008 he also worked as a producer at 2K.

Brinkman replaces Michael Condrey, who was fired in February 2025.

Ismailer also discussed the studio's upcoming Project Ethos in what is surely a vote of confidence for 31st Union.

“The community feedback from last fall’s Project Ethos playtest was enlightening," Ismailer wrote.

"It affirmed the promise of a roguelike shooter but told us we still had work to do. It uncovered the need for a more distinct identity. It’s been inspiring to see how far you’ve come. You took the feedback to heart and reimagined Project Ethos with a renewed vision – one that’s poised to deliver on its promise to our players. Our confidence in Project Ethos grows every day. To further the incredible progress you’ve made, I’m excited to welcome Ben Brinkman as the new studio head of 31st Union."
