Ascendant reportedly furloughs majority of staff

Immortals of Aveum maker Ascendant Studios has apparently furloughed the majority of its employees.

As reported by Eurogamer, the news first emerged via a post on LinkedIn from former principal engineer Kris Morness, who wrote that he believes around 30 people will be impacted by this news. This information has been corroborated by Polygon's senior reporter, Nicole Carpenter.

"This lines up with what I’ve heard at Immortals of Aveum developer Ascendant Studios — that a large portion of the staff was recently furloughed," the journalist wrote.

"Haven’t been able to confirm numbers, and Ascendant hasn’t responded to multiple requests for comment."

This news comes seven months after the studio laid off around 45 per cent of its staff in the wake of initial low sales of Immortals of Aveum. At the time, the company employed around 100 people.

PCGamesInsider.biz has reached out to Ascendent Studios to find out more.
