Tails Noir maker Eggnut is closing down

The developer of the Tails Noir series, Eggnut Games, ceased operations yesterday (March 6th).

In a post on Twitter, the company said that it had had a hard time securing funding, so will not be continuing work on a new project that it had been working on for two years. Eggnut wrote that it would be using what remaining budget it still had to give its staff paid time to find new jobs. The company employed 15 people.

Furthermore, the studio said that it would still be supporting Tails Noir and Tails Noir: Preludes.

"This shit sucks," Eggnut wrote. "We are unable to continue development of our new game that we've been working on for the past two years."

"We've been at it since 2017 and it was great to have you by our side. The world is on fire. The games industry is fucked. Call your mom."

Eggnut was founded back in 2017. To date, it has released two games: 2021's Tails Noir and a prequel Tails Noir Preludes two years later.
