Build A Rocket Boy makes layoffs after landing $110m investment

Developer Build a Rocket Boy has cut an undisclosed number of jobs.

Initially reported by PCGamesN, the company has confirmed the news in a statement though has not put a figure on how many people have been impacted by this decision. It's reported that staff in its QA, publishing and art teams are affected.

This news comes just over a month after Build a Rocket Boy landed $110 million in Series D funding.

“While we have made great progress developing our products, we are now in a position where we need to make changes to the way we work across our business in order to become a more agile studio and to meet the requirements that our projects demand," a rep for Build a Rocket Boy said.

“To achieve that and refocus, we have taken the extremely difficult decision to propose the removal of a number of roles globally. This process is ongoing and we are working with those impacted at this difficult and challenging time.”

Build a Rocket Boy was founded by Rockstar vet Leslie Benzies back in 2018.
