CHARTS: Palworld debuts at No.1 on Steam

Early Access survival title Palworld has started life at the head of the Steam Top Ten.

The game launched on January 19th and has already shifted over six million copies in its first four days on sale, which is pretty wild. The pocket monster romp has held the Steam Deck from the No.1 spot again with the hardware having to settle for second place once again. Fellow Valve product Counter-Strike 2 swapped places with PUBG: Battlegrounds week-on-week to take third place while the latter drops to No.4.

EA Sports FC returns to the Top Ten thanks to a 70 per cent price cut, with the football blockbuster coming in ahead of Digital Extremes' Warframe. That is likely down to new content coming to the title's Prime Access service.

Co-op horror romp Lethal Company drops from fifth to seventh week-on-week, while Baldur's Gate 3 falls two places to No.8. Battle royale hit Apex Legends saw a massive drop from No.1 to ninth, though comes in ahead of Call of Duty which rounds the charts off in tenth place.

Here is the Steam Top Ten for the week ending January 23rd:

1. Palworld, Pocketpair
2. Steam Deck, Valve
3. Counter-Strike 2, Valve
4. PUBG: Battlegrounds, Krafton
5. EA Sports FC 24, EA
6. Warframe, Digital Extremes
7. Lethal Company, Zeekerss
8. Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios
9. Apex Legends, EA
10. Call of Duty, Activision
