Bloober Team is working on IP from Walking Dead firm Skybound

Polish games firm Bloober Team is partnering with entertainment firm Skybound on an as yet undisclosed project.

In a note to investors, the company said that this game – codenamed R – is set to come out in 2024. Given Bloober Team's focus on the horror genre, it's possible that the studio is working on a Walking Dead game.

The developer is currently working on a remake of iconic horror title Silent Hill 2.

"This project is the next step in the second party strategy, under which we cooperate with external partners providing our horror know-how," Bloober Team president Piotr Babieno said.

"These are not titles that are intended to give us only financial profit, but are further steps in achieving our strategy by the end of 2027.

"We have known each other with our friends from Skybound for a long time and I am sure that it will be a successful cooperation."

Skybound has long licensed out its IP. Its crown jewel, The Walking Dead, has been turned into a video game numerous times though to differing degrees of success; there have been highs, like the company's partnership with Telltale Games, and lows, such as its failed project with Starbreeze.
