Street Fighter 6 hits one million sales

Capcom's Street Fighter 6 has sold over one million copies since its release last week.

That's according to the Japanese publisher, which reports that it has shifted over one million units just three days after the game's June 2nd launch.

Furthermore, Capcom says that the Street Fighter franchise as a whole has sold more than 50 million copies since its debut back in 1987.

The publisher says that the upcoming Capcom Pro Tour 2023 esports event for Street Fighter 6 will have a prize pool of more than 260 million yen ($2 million).

There's no indication as to what the title has shifted on each platform, but the brawler did debut at the No.2 spot on Steam, second only to Valve's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Capcom has high hopes for Street Fighter 6, forecasting a record-breaking 10 million lifetime sales. Street Fighter 5 – which only came to PC and PlayStation 4 – sold seven million copies, so that 10 million figure isn't that outrageous a goal.
