Games creation platform Roblox has had to - once again - say that it isn't closing down this year.
In a post on Twitter (below), the company quashed rumours that it was going to be shut during 2020, saying that this is just the latest time that such gossip was doing the rounds. In fact, they started in July of last year.
It appears the rumour started on a website called React2424, which lets people make fake articles. Because the future is such a great place.
It's hard to imagine that Roblox would close down given that it has over 100m monthly active users and has made over $1bn in revenue to date. Oh, and that's on top of paying out $70m to the creators on its platform.
Let’s set things straight: Roblox isn’t “shutting down.” The same hoax (with a few details changed) goes around every year or two.
Remember: don’t believe everything y’all read on the internet!
