Free-to-play Rocket League gets the greenlight for China launch

A free-to-play version of car football hit Rocket League has been approved for release in China.

As reported by Niko Partners, the game was one of just three PC titles to be approved for launch last week. 20 mobile titles and one console game was also given the greenlight.

It was first reported way back in April 2017 that Rocket League developer Psyonix, now owned by Epic Games, had partnered with Tencent to bring the game to China.

No release date for the game’s release in the country has been revealed.

Back on track

Since China restarted its approval process back in December 2018, 1,095 games have been approved for release in the country.

This year, 99 titles from foreign companies have also been given the go ahead for launch.
