Ubisoft laying off 60 staff in UK and US

French publishing giant Ubisoft is laying off 60 members of staff across the UK and US.

As reported by Kotaku's Ethan Gach, these cuts could be affecting the company's Customer Relation Center teams in Cary, North Carolina and Newcastle in the UK. The final figure is yet to be confirmed.

"Ubisoft's Customer Relation Center team is evolving its organisation to focus on where we can have a significant impact while remaining steadfast in our commitment to consistently support our players anywhere in the world," a Ubisoft rep said.

"We estimate that, due to organisational changes, 60 team members from our offices in Cary, North Carolina in the US and Newcastle in the UK could be impacted."

At the start of this year, Ubisoft said that it would be conducting cost-cutting measures. That was before it was revealed in March that the company was conducting a "strategic reorganisation" of its European offices.
