Tech giant Microsoft has said that it is trying to add more to its Game Pass service to justify the recent hike in prices.
Speaking to The Verge, the company's director of gaming and platform comms at Microsoft, Dustin Blackwell, said that it has added to the existing tiers with new content, pointing to the cloud streaming functionality that has been introduced to the new Essential and Premium tiers. He also said that the company has heard the community feedback and is working to address concerns.
“We understand price increases are never fun for anybody, but we’re trying to reinforce by adding more value to these plans as well,” Blackwell said.
“It’s something we don’t take lightly, and we’re listening to the feedback of players and the community to try to provide them with more of what they’re asking for.”
Microsoft recently increased the prices of two of its tiers of Xbox Game Pass; the PC version has risen to $16.50 from $12 while the Ultimate tier has seen its price go from $19.99 per moth to $29.99.
