A sequel to cult classic roguelike platformer Spelunky has been revealed.
Announced on-stage during Sony’s Paris Games Week press event with a neat teaser trailer, the title appears to have users playing as the child of the original protagonist.
No release date has been announced just yet, but developer Mossmouth Games - i.e. solo game maker Derek Yu - has confirmed via Twitter that the game is indeed coming to Steam (below).
When announced, only a PS4 SKU was mentioned, obviously due to it being revealed on Sony’s stage.
Yes! Spelunky 2 is in development! Mossmouth x @BlitWorks x @strotchy. Coming first to PS4 and Steam. #Spelunky2 https://t.co/FbhKgpREwZ
