Skate hits 15m players

The new Skate game from Electronic Art has attracted over 15 million players to date.

That's according to a post on the title's Twitter feed, in which the publishing giant announced the sales milestone 20 days after its initial release.

"Wow thank you," EA wrote on Twitter.

"Over 15 million players have jumped into San Vansterdam since we launched Early Access! Season 1 kicks off tomorrow, we can't wait to skate the streets with everyone."

Skate was announced all the way back in 2020 from a new studio that was eventually named Full Circle; this studio is helmed by Xbox veteran Dan McCulloch. The development of a new Skate title was, in part, the result of consumer demand in the wake of influencers causing a wave of excitement around 2010's Skate 3.

The game eventually launched on September 16th. The title was released in an early access format, meaning that it has been met with some criticism for lacking in content and polish (such people do not understand what early access means).
