Roblox taps Airbnb vet as chief creator ecosystem officer

Games platform Roblox has hired Vlad Loktev as its new chief creator ecosystem officer.

He has worked across a variety of companies across his career, including a ten-year stint at Airbnb. He also spent over a year at Zynga between 2011 and 2012, growing Words with Friends' daily active users to 14 million as a senior product manager.

In his new role, he will be leading all things creator at Roblox, including building a suite of tools for developers, working on developer relations and platform events.

"The energy and potential of our creator community has never been more powerful," the platform wrote.

"Roblox recently broke records last month with more than 45 million concurrent users playing games like Grow a Garden, Steal a Brainrot (which has now surpassed the world record for most concurrent users in a single game with 24.2 million CCU), and Dress to Impress. "As Roblox tracks towards its goal of ten per cent of all gaming content revenue flowing through the Roblox ecosystem and being distributed within our community of creators, Vlad will play a key role in supporting the community making it all possible."
