The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) has appointed Limpho Moeti (pictured) as its new chair.
She replaces Zak Whaley, who has been the organisation's chairman since April 2024. Moeti has worked in the games industry for nine years at the likes of Free Lives, Nyamakop and RocketRide; that's on top of co-founding indie festival Playtopia.
Meanwhile, the IGDA has a new vice chair in Nazih Gares, while Mafalda Duarte takes on the roel of secretary. Finally, Tim Cullings is staying on as treasurer. Duarte was the studio director of Telescope Game Studios and co-founded Game Dev Lison. Cullings is the exec director of Seattle Indies.
“Limpho, Nazih, Mafalda, and Tim bring passion and unique approaches to supporting the organization,” IGDA exec director Dr Jakin Vela said.
“Their leadership and expertise will strengthen IGDA’s global connections, expand mentorship offerings, and create lasting partnerships that empower game developers at every stage of their careers.”
