Polish developer PixelAnt Games is now independent from Sumo Group. 

The studio announced the news on LinkedIn, saying that it is going to be focusing on creating its own intellectual properties, as well as doing work-for-hire projects. 

This newfound independence only applies to PixelAnt's Polish arm; the company's Czech studio is going to remain a part of Sumo Group. PixelAnt is working with Bloober Team on a Nintendo Switch 2 port of Cronos: The New Dawn at the moment. 

"After careful consideration, we decided that operating as an independent studio best supports that creative vision and allows us to fully focus on what defines us," PixelAnt wrote. 

"This is a big step for us, and we’re already exploring new partnerships, funding, and publishing opportunities to help bring our ideas to life.

"We’re thankful to Sumo for their support over the years - we’re parting with a great deal of respect and appreciation." 

Sumo Group recent divested The Chinese Room, too. The company acquired PixelAnt back in 2021 for £250,000.
