Indie smash hit Peak has sold around ten million copies to date.
That's according to Aliena Analytics' Rhys Elliott, who reports that the game sold 1.7 million copies during the previous week alone. This was due to a 38 per cent discount over on Steam. As of the end of last week, Peak had sold 9.7 million units and made over $55 million in revenue. By units sold, Peak shifted the most copies on Steam last week; the platform's own charts data says it was the third highest-grossing title for the period, too.
The game launched back in June.
Elliott continues, saying that Peak is the second indie title to surpass 10 million sales, coming in behind REPO. That game has shifted 16.8 million units to date.
"Peak's copies sold delta had been declining with each week after launch. Then, the price dropped eight weeks after launch," he wrote.
"Our daily copies sold data shows that Peak sold over 550k copies on the weekend alone (267k on Saturday and 293k on Sunday).
"However, Aggro Crab and Landfall also launched the Mesa Update on the same day as the price cut (August 11), bringing legacy players back into the fold with a new biome and achievements.
"This resulted in PEAK having its most concurrent players ever on Sunday (171k CCUs). Similarly, Peak also enjoyed its most DAUs ever on Sunday (over 1.3 million!)."
