Report: Former Callisto Protocol devs left out of credits

Staff who contributed to the recently-released horror romp The Callisto Protocol have been left out of the game's credits.

That's according to GamesIndustry.biz, which reports that around 20 people from a number of different departments have been omitted from the title's credits. This includes senior members of staff, employees who had worked with CEO Glen Schofield at Sledgehammer and people who had worked on Callistol Protocol for over a year, in addition to workers who had helped build developer Striking Distance.

"I understand if a contractor does a small amount of work for a few months and is left off, but we're talking full-time employees with over a year invested in the title, and had a hand in significant parts of the product," one source told GI.biz.

"That's where the surprise has come from for a lot of us."

Many members of staff have been credited as providing "additional" work to their relevant departments, while others were grouped together in a "miscellaneous" category.

"There was definitely some amount of playing favorites with the people who got credited," one source said.

"My impression is that they pretty much picked people they liked or had some sort of relationship with, and those would get credit and the others wouldn't."

The International Game Developers Association is in the process of attempting to tackle poor credit practices in games.
