Sony's Firesprite moving to new huge Liverpool office

Sony-owned game developer Firesprite is moving into a brand new and large office space in Liverpool.

The new office, Duke & Parr, clocks in at around 50,000 square feet, 20 times bigger than the studio's previous location – the Vanilla Factory – which was 2,295 square feet large. Invest Liverpool says that a lease has been signed until 2032.

This is the largest letting seen in Liverpool since Sony bought a 65,000 square foot office in the city in 2019.

Firesprite was founded by former members of Sony Studio Liverpool – previously Psygnosis – after it was closed in 2012. The company was bought by PlayStation in September 2021.

The developer is currently reportedly working on a number of projects, including a PlayStation VR 2 Horizon title in collaboration with Guerrilla. It's also rumoured to be creating a Twisted Metal reboot. We do know for certain that it is developing a triple-A narrative game built in Unreal Engine 5.
