Rumours point to this year's Call of Duty being a new entry in the Black Ops sub-series.
That's according to one Marcus Sellars (below), who claims that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to launch on PC, as well as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
This year, developer Treyarch is up in the Call of Duty rotation. This is the studio that has made all the Black Ops games, which are arguably the most popular the blockbuster franchise has going for it.
Sellars claims that the game will be set in "modern times".
The Black Ops series has taken place over multiple time periods, such as the Cold War and the far future, so there's certainly scope to keep the title in-line with the more, ahem, "boots on the ground" gameplay that we saw with Call of Duty: WWII.
COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch. It is set in the modern times and is boots on the ground. The Switch version will support DLC, HD Rumble and motion controls. The Switch version is also being ported by a company which is familar with COD games.
