It would seem that both zombies and aliens are coming to Rainbow Six: Siege.
In a blog post, developer and publisher Ubisoft revealed more information about the upcoming Outbreak in-game event that's set to launch soon.
It was already implied that, um, zombies were coming to the realistic tactical shooter, but it also seems that aliens and other monstrosities are going to be showing up, too.
The Outbreak event, part of the Operation Chimera season, will last four weeks. The content is launching on Siege's test server on February 20th, and will be running for all players between March 6th and April 3rd.
This is kicking off the online tactical shooter's third season. In its first two years, the game was played by some 25m players and is perhaps the best example to date of Ubisoft's ventures with the 'games-as-a-service' business model.
Going into the game's third year, Ubisoft announced it was increasing the RRP of the base game by $20, but has since gone back on this following feedback from the community.
"The Outbreak event will mark the beginning of the third year of Rainbow Six Siege," the post read.
"We are grateful to the millions of players who have supported us for so long, and thanks to you, we are beginning a new year of Siege with a lot of exciting content ahead. To show our gratitude, we want to start Year 3 with a gift to our community, something truly unique. We hope you will enjoy playing Outbreak as much as we enjoyed making it."
