Valve bolsters Counter-Strike: Global Offensive China offering

For the first time ever, China is getting its own dedicated servers for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The news was announced via the game’s official Chinese site, spotted by PCGamesN, which says that a beta for the servers will be beginning on September 15th.

Furthermore, Valve is launching 24 region-themed stickers for the Chinese version of the game, which is a first for the software giant, and is likely a proof of commitment to the region.

There's also a lot of talk about how Counter-Strike is not a pay-to-win title, as well as the fact that 510m people watch Counter-Strike: GO on Twitch, if you care to read the piece.

It’s easy to see why Valve is doubling down on China – the region’s PC market alone is worth a whopping $13.1bn in 2016, according to research from IHS Markit, with a large amount of this coming from shooters such as Blizzard’s Overwatch and Crossfire from Smilegate.Valve bolsters Counter-Strike: Global Offensive China offering
