Capcom USA names Rob Dyer as its new COO

Industry veteran Rob Dyer has been appointed COO of Capcom USA.

Formerly CEO and co-founder of merchandising outlet Fan Kicks, Dyer comes with a quarter-century history at companies including Sony, Zynga, Eidos, and Crave Entertainment.

Dyer will report directly to Urata as he handles Capcom’s publishing business in the United States.

"Rob's strategic acumen, deep industry knowledge and established networks will play a vital role for Capcom's business goals," said Capcom CEO Kiichiro Urata.

"He will help steer the success of our incredible portfolio of popular brands such as Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, and more."

Despite the closure of Capcom Vancouver, the publisher has posted strong gains in H1 2018 - with net profit rising 97 per cent year-over-year.

Capcom now intends to double-down on cloud streaming technology first experimented with in Resident Evil 7. It also intends to push further into Monster Hunter World support on PC, as it enters its second year.
